Here in Durham, North Carolina we are known for quite a few different things.  We have some awesome restaurants, a well-known college with a great athletics program, and baseball.  The Durham Bulls baseball team may not be a Major League Baseball team, but it is full of major league talent that is for sure.  What is better than a trip out to the ballpark to see America’s favorite pastime in action?  Yeah, we think it is one of the most exciting things to do too.

Cities With Most Sports Fans

Everyone tends to think his or her own city has the best sports fans on the planet.  If you’re from Charlotte, NC, then you pretty much hang at the Panthers home games in Bank of America Stadium making all the racket you can while cheering on Cam Newton to greater feats of athletic superstardom — but are you as loud and proud as fans of the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins, or the New York Giants?  Which cities around the US are famous for having the craziest and most zealous fans?  Well, down in Florida I’m sure the people of Miami think it’s them.  And guess what?  According to some information we came by this morning, they are right.

Food might not be the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about baseball or baseball stadiums, but it’s surely got to be on the top of your list.  You seriously cannot tell me that you would go to a ball park and not enjoy some of the delicious food offerings available to you.  Now baseball at the Durham Bull Athletic Park might currently be in hiatus, but you can still stop by the stadium and try out some of North Carolina’s favorite dishes.

Durham Bulls Stadium Preferred by PETA

PETA, the organization notorious for going to sometimes blood curdling extremes to champion the cause of animal rights, has decided to call out the Durham Bulls — but it’s not for the reason you’re probably thinking.  No, PETA is not concerned that Durham’s baseball team might be abusing our bovine brothers and sisters around the world by having a bull for its mascot.  No, PETA isn’t worried that the stadium is built in the heart of North Carolina pit cooked barbecue country.  Instead of looking at all the negatives that could be looked at, PETA has decided to call attention to something it considers to be positive about the Durham Bulls Athletic Park:  the fact that it serves vegetarian concessions alongside all those burgers, dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches.

Fun With The Bulls

There’s nothing better than having fun, right?  Of course I’m right.  When you can have fun and also promote a good cause, that is even better.  The Durham Bulls know just how to enjoy themselves while helping others.  For instance one of their main focuses this past season was supporting the local police department of Durham with some fun contests with their fans and some members of Durham’s finest.  Let’s see what kind of fun the Bulls were up to.

Get ready Durham! The Bulls are going to host the 2012 Triple A Championship Game in 2012. This is a big win for Durham. The Championship could impact the city by 2.5 million dollars, and allow them to showcase to the country the amazing renovations the city has seen over the pat few years.
